Dermal Fillers

Cross Linked Hyaluronic Acid

As we age, the natural volume of our youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles and folds settle in. Dermal fillers instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away deep lines and facial creases. Results are immediate with minimal downtime. This non-surgical technique will help restore your natural beauty quickly, safely, and effectively. Dr. DiMeola, a physician with extensive training in advanced filler technique, masterfully creates subtle, yet dramatic results.

Conveniently located to serve South Burlington, Burlington, and Stowe.

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are used to reduce or eliminate wrinkles, raise superficial lines or scar depressions, enhance certain features and replace soft-tissue volume loss. Dermal fillers restore youthful contours and proportions.

Most fillers used today consist of cross-linked hyaluronic acid, a material naturally present in the body. Hyaluronic acid keeps the skin plump and hydrated. The hyaluronic acid found in dermal fillers is cross-linked to ensure stability. Dermal fillers vary in molecular size and by the amount of cross-linking. Product thickness and lasting ability are affected by these characteristics, which is why certain dermal fillers are preferred with specific patients and/or treatment areas.

What can Dermal Fillers Treat?

Expert Physician-Injector, Dr. Ashley DiMeola uses dermal fillers for the following applications:

  • smooth out lines around the nose and mouth (marionette lines, smile lines)
  • enhance and restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples
  • diminish vertical lip lines
  • plump and enhanced lips
  • non-surgical rhinoplasty
  • jawline rejuvenation
  • chin augmentation
  • enhance shallow contours
  • decrease or remove the shadow of undereye
  • smooth chin wrinkles
  • rejuvenate hands

Dermal fillers are often used in conjunction with Botox or Dysport. Dermal fillers may also be used to treat asymmetry and deformities caused by medical conditions, such as Bell’s Palsy.

“Today I went back in for a follow up preformed by Dr. DiMeola and was very impressed with how professional, kind, and knowledgeable she is. Both Kiley (laser) Dr.DiMeola and all the front desk girls are always extremely professional and courteous. The spa is top notch! I would highly recommend to others especially those who are doing one of their services for the first time!”

What to Expect During a Dermal Filler Treatment

At GLOWAESTHETICS, we take pride in patient satisfaction and desired outcomes. During your dermal filler appointment, Dr. DiMeola will review your unique anatomy, discuss treatment goals and create a unique treatment plan that ensures gradual natural results.

Depending on the treatment area and THE amount of product being used, the actual procedure may take 15-45 minutes. With Dr. DiMeola’s attentiveness and care, most patients report little discomfort. For additional patient comfort, we are happy to offer an anesthetic cream (please arrive 30 minutes before your treatment) and dental blocks, if needed. Most patients resume regular activities following their dermal filler appointment (except lip enhancement, which may result in 1-2 days of swelling).

Dermal Fillers Results

Several factors contribute to a dermal filler’s longevity. Such influences include the filler consistency, the area of the face where it is injected, and the speed at which the patient’s body metabolizes. On average, dermal fillers last between 6-18 months. Once desired results are achieved, touch-up treatments may be necessary. It is recommended at the time of your treatment to schedule your next appointment for optimal anti-aging benefits.
